A foundation may choose to have any officer positions that serve it well, with positions guided by those set forth in the bylaws or trust document and organized to comply with state and federal law. The traditional and most common positions are chair (or president); secretary; and treasurer. The foundation may create additional positions to serve its purpose.
It is important to create position descriptions to ensure shared expectations about the duties and responsibilities of each position.
