It is not uncommon for a grantee to voluntarily inform its funders that the need for the project has changed or that the grantee’s ability to carry out the project has changed due to lack of other funding, changes in personnel, or another reason. Only rarely does deliberate diversion of funds occur.
If it is not possible to work out some other way to accomplish the desired result, should a foundation rescind the grant? How is the rescission accomplished?
