Although the private foundation structure meets many donors’ goals effectively, private foundations aren’t the only option. Donor advised funds (DAFs) are another charitable vehicle with different freedoms and limitations that allow donors to meet other goals.
If set up properly, using two giving vehicles can be well worth the work. If you can accomplish your goals more efficiently, it actually may be easier to use two different structures.
