How To Become a Momentum Builder
If you or your organization would like to invest in Exponent Philanthropy’s exciting momentum-building efforts, please consider joining the Momentum Builders Circle with a three-year commitment of at least $5,000 annually. What is the Momentum Builders Circle?
Launched in 2023, the Momentum Builders Circle is a dedicated group of funders that have made significant, multi-year investments to support Exponent Philanthropy’s next few years of growth and development.
Funders who join the Momentum Builders Circle believe strongly in Exponent Philanthropy’s work and mission to amplify and increase the impact of lean funders and transform communities through informed giving. By providing reliable, flexible, multi-year funding, these visionary grantmakers are ensuring that Exponent Philanthropy has the resources and capacity it needs to achieve the goals of the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan and that our organization is well-positioned to capitalize on future growth and innovation.
The philanthropic sector is ever-changing. Ensuring that Exponent Philanthropy is a thriving organization operating at its highest level of impact, means that lean funders have the mission-critical resources, training, and peer networks they need to amplify their impact and positively transform their communities. With Momentum Building investments, Exponent Philanthropy is:
- Strengthening the leadership skills of lean funders and the larger philanthropic sector, inspiring and equipping new and long-time board members, staff members, philanthropists, and advisors with the skills and resources they need to maximize their impact and respond to the ever-changing needs of their communities.
- Elevating Exponent Philanthropy’s signature programming and expanding opportunities for career-long learning especially for experienced philanthropists and those who want to go deeper into areas such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Investing in and developing the capacity and skills of Exponent Philanthropy’s staff and board as we continue and deepen our mission-critical work and respond to the evolving needs of our national network of 1,600+ funders.
Why Now?
When Exponent Philanthropy launched our strategic plan in January 2020, we could not have anticipated what the next few years would mean for our world, our organization, our members, or our staff. We had lots of BIG plans and momentum heading into 2020. However, like so much during that time, our plans changed as we shifted gears to support our members and partners to preserve health, gather and share innovative and promising philanthropic practices, and ensure grantmaking resources flowed to the organizations, causes, people, and places that needed it to survive and come through a historically challenging time.
Now, with new leadership in place, and a renewed sense of dedication to our members and mission, the Exponent Philanthropy board and staff are excited to use 2024 and beyond to build momentum for a strong future.
